Jio vs Airtel vs Vi: Why users of telecom companies are decreasing
Telecom companies
According to the TRAI report, the number of active users of Jio has come down drastically. Jio had 383.24 million users as of June 2022, which has grown to 382.17 million by July 2022. That is, about 1.07 (10 lakh 70 thousand) customers have left Jio.
According to the monthly report of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), there is a huge decline in the users of telecom companies. Indian telecom companies like Airtel, Jio and Vodafone-Idea (Vi) are seeing a steady decline in the number of users.
Let us inform that according to the report of TRAI, the number of telephone subscribers has increased to 117.84 crore in 2021 while in 2020 this number was 1173 million.

Actually, the reason for the decrease in users of telecom companies is being considered to be expensive recharge plans. Most of the users have already been using two SIM cards simultaneously, but now due to the increasingly expensive recharge plans, they are stopping using their secondary SIM.
In such a situation, telecom companies are also suffering a lot due to this. Last year itself, it was reported in the monthly report of TRAI that in the year 2021 itself, about 20 million customers of Jio had left the company.
Jio tops in active users
According to the recently released report of TRAI, Jio is still at number one in terms of active users. Whereas Airtel is second and Vi is at number three.
In July, Jio added a total of 2.9 million i.e. 29 lakh new customers and Airtel added 5 lakh new customers. On the other hand, BSNL and Vi have suffered a lot in July. BSNL’s 8 lakh and Vi’s about 15 lakh customers have been reduced.
